How much are your individual membership dues?

Are membership dues a one-time payment, monthly or annual?

Are there any discounts on IES membership dues through my employer?
Last Updated: May 19, 2021Companies that are a Sustaining members receive a 10% discount on individual memberships. Please contact your company’s Membership point of contact for the discount code, or email membership@ies.org for more information about your company’s Sustaining membership.
Are there membership categories for companies or other organizations?

How is our Sustaining Membership invoiced? Can we request monthly or quarterly invoices?
Last Updated: May 20, 2021All membership levels at IES are for one year duration. We do not offer monthly or quarterly renewals or invoices. Our renewal notices are emailed to your Sustaining Member designated contact. If your company cannot process renewal through the standard renewal option, or need an invoice, please email membership@ies.org for assistance.
We need more discount codes for our employees, how do we get those?

How do my employees and/or individual members receive the discount codes?
Last Updated: May 20, 2021The Sustaining Member designated point of contact receives all documentation and records related to their Sustaining Membership level and is responsible for distributing that information within their company/organization. IES will not provide the discount code information to anyone other than the designated point of contact.
What is the discount code used for?

The discount code can be used by your designated individuals for 10% of individual memberships, “new” individual non-employee membership (feel free to invite your customers to join!), and conference registrations, plus discounted registration to IES Lighting Certified (LC) Study Groups and free educational webinar registrations.
If someone doesn’t get the discount code then what discounts do other individual members at my company receive?

Do I need to be a member of IES in order to be a part of a Section?
Last Updated: May 20, 2021You can attend Section events without being a member, but there is often a price break for members. Check with your local IES Section to see their event prices for members and non-members. In order to serve on the Section Board of Managers you must be a current IES member.
How do I find out which Section I belong to or should belong to?

To find out which Section you are assigned to, check your membership account page, or contact IES. To request to be assigned to a different Section, contact membership@ies.org and let them know to which Section you are attending meetings.
What does an IES Section do?

The purpose of the local Sections is to help create and maintain a vibrant community of Lighting Professionals in your area. Sections will typically conduct meetings and events around lighting topics that are educational, interesting, or to highlight current standards in the industry.
